Every piece you carry home from Florilegium Paris was born of leaves, roots, and petals. Colored slowly, by hand, the way it has been done for generations. A conversation between fabric and plant, and like anything living, it asks for a little patience in return.
Here is how we keep that color close.
First days
Let your piece rest for three days before its first wash. The pigments are still settling into the fibers, finding their place.
Washing
Wash by hand or machine on delicate cycle below 40°C. Use a mild or pH-neutral soap. Natural dyes are gentle guests in the fiber, not permanent tenants, and they respond best to a gentle hand.
Drying
Dry in the open air, in the shade and away from direct sun. Botanical color is a living thing, and like the plants it came from, it prefers soft light to harsh rays.
Ironing
If it needs smoothing, iron on the reverse side, on a low heat setting.
A note on fading
Natural color is not static, it shifts gently with time, the way a garden changes with the seasons.
This is not a flaw. It is the mark of a dye that came from the earth rather than a factory. Every little change is proof of where your piece came from: nature.
