The Colors of Mexico

Ecoprint with ancient Mexican pigments.

In this workshop, you'll discover the most colorful traditional Mexican pigments while you learn the art of ecoprint: an ancient technique that transfers the shape, texture, and color of plants directly onto silk using only heat, pressure, and the quiet chemistry of nature.

This workshop is built around four dyes, each one a piece of Mexican botanical heritage:

• Cempasúchil · the marigold that guides souls home
• Grana cochinilla · the tiny insect that once rivalled gold in the markets of the world
• Pericón · wild and aromatic, rooted in ritual
• Palo de campeche · a wood that dyed the wardrobes of European royalty

Working with these four pigments, you'll compose and dye your own silk scarf. Arranging botanicals, folding, binding, and waiting for the moment of discovery when you unwrap your piece and see what nature made with your hands.

Every result is unrepeatable. Every scarf is entirely yours.
